ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 G Lens
Minolta 100-300 xi
Minolta 100-200mm
price paid:127 USD (used)
positive:Light weight
Fast focusing
Works well with my 1.5x TC
negative:Build quality but not a problem yet
comment:I bought this lens for hiking and find it meeting my needs with my Alpha A700. To keep the weight down I pair it with a Minolta 24mm f2.8. This lens continues to give me very good immages under variable light conditions.

It is a keeper at the price.
