ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 400 4.5 G HS
Minolta 200 2.8 G HS
price paid:1940€
positive:Long reach
I use it handhold
Not expensive
Very sharp
Very good optical IS with 3 modes
Fast, silent and accurate AF
Very solid build and very good ergonomics
It shows very good macro performance (0.2 mag)at 600 mm and 2.5 meter distance. AF is very fast and accurate for macro work.
Internal focusing, internal zoom, silent AF in combination with silent shutter mode make it an absolute stealthy combo for wildlife
negative:The T number at f=600mm is more 7.1 than 6.3
In general good bokeh, but it‘s a zoom lens and my old Minolta 400 4.5 G has the better bokeh
comment:Highley recommended wild life, outdoor, birding lens
For BIF and fast sport you will need good light
I use it on a A7r3 and for Astrophoto with a IR modified A6300
