ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony 28-70
price paid:2200 USD (new)
positive:Very fast AF. Sharp with great color and contrast. Excellent bokeh especially for a zoom lens. Build quality is top-notch with AF/MF switch and focus hold button (remapped to eye-AF). Tight but smooth zoom and nice manual focus feel. Nice lens hood with button release.
negative:It's relatively big and heavy but that what you get with large aperture lenses.
comment:This is a great lens. I did comparison shots with the Sony 28-70 FE which came my A7iii and at the wide end it's sharper at f2.8 than the 28-70 is at f8. Sure it's a fairly big and heavy lens but that's physics. If you want a large aperture lens it's going to big.
