comment: | I'm the poster child for Frugal. This is my first high dollar lens for my A7 II. I adapt the other lenses through a LA-EA3. I also have (2) A99's (2) A77's (1) A6000 and lots of older A mount camera's. I have over 100 lenses including high end Sony and Minolta A mount lenses, lots of Zeiss M42 and P6 (medium format) glass. This is by far the sharpest lens I own (not the most expensive). I asked a friend in the camera business if I should do the Sigma ART 24mm or this lens. He told me not to think about anything but the Sony 'G'. He did not steer me wrong. I have only had if for a few weeks (purchased it used - with no hood), but I don't see my assessment changing. This lens is worth every penny. In fact I'm no eyeing a 200-600 because this lens is so strong. |

comment: | A game changer at this focal length. I have also tested this lens at 61MP and it is simply remarkable. |

comment: | If you are looking for a good wide-angle lens for E mount, Sony FE 1.4/24 GM is currently probably the best option available. Apart from the high price, it is hard to find any flaws. Of course, the fixed focal length of 24 mm does not suit for every situation, but when it is suitable, it works very well. |

comment: | This is my first 24mm. I use a 12mm and a 35mm for cities and this lens is a nice in between. I was lookin for a lightweight high quality lens, and Sony Provided it. |

positive: | Sharpness from f1,4, bokeh, weather sealing, handling, build and weight, nearly silent internal focusing, 11 aperture blades, fokus hold button and AF/MF-switch. In contrast to Zeiss Sony delivers a matching bag. And the best thing about this lens is the manual aperture ring! |
negative: | No OSS, due to the image stabilization of the camera(s) no disadvantage! |
comment: | This Lens convinces with an outstanding sharpness performance already from full aperture and a great bokeh! Despite aperture 1.4, the lens is relatively light (eff. 490g with filter) and easy to handle. Produces beautiful sun stars! Weather Sealing and the nearly silent focusing process underline the outstanding performance of this lens. Highly recommended! Update: At the A7 III this lens wins again clearly in resolution and contrast. Therefore, I will use it in the future only on a FF sensor. One of the best lenses I've ever used! |
