ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony FE 5.6-6.3/200-600 G OSS and various other telephoto lenses
price paid:EUR 6200 (new)
positive:+ Excellent image quality
+ Light and quite compact
+ F/2.8 max aperture
+ Works nicely with teleconverters
negative:- minimum focusing distance is quite long
- low maximum magnification
- focus limiter has no option to choose to focus only on targets that are close to the camera
- the leatherette lens cap is clumsy and occasionally bit hard to remove
- lens and especially the hood are surprisingly wide
- strap attachment point is in the lens foot
- expensive
comment:This is becoming easily one of my favourite lenses. The light weight and reasonably compact size makes it easy to carry around and the lens operates as well as quality lenses should. Negative aspects are actually mainly nitpicking and the only major problem is that sadly this kind of lenses are not exactly cheap. And of course, since this is a prime lens, the focal length may not suit every situation (even with teleconverters) and at times zooms may be bit more flexible.
