ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Tamron 28-75mm
price paid:700 USD new
positive:Great zoom range
Surprisingly sharp
Small and light
Fast at 28mm
67mm filter size
negative:No image stabilization
comment:Bought this lens as an all around travel lens when I want to minimize changing lenses. It is almost as sharp as the similarly sized Tamron 28-75. Quite a feat. Perfect compliment for the Tamron 17-28mm f2.8. May end up selling the 28-75.....The more I use the 28-200mm lens, the more I like it!
