ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sigma EX 70-200 1:2.8 II Macro HSM
Minolta AF 70-210 F4
Sony FE 4.5-5.6/70-300 G OSS
(+ other lenses with vastly different focal lengths)
price paid:1 489 €
positive:+ Light and compact for F/2.8 lens
+ Fast and accurate AF
+ Good image quality
+ F2.8
negative:- No optical stabilization
- No controls on the lens apart from zoom lock
- Not possible to use with teleconverters
- 180 mm tele-end might feel tad short at times
comment:Affordable (but not exactly cheap) option for a short, fast telephoto zoom. It might feel bit plasticy and spartan in physical features, but image quality is good and compared to any 70-200 mm F2.8 lens this is very light and compact.
