ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony 18-70

price paid:499.99 USD (new)
positive:Sharp
Versatile
Fun!
Resolves plenty of detail
negative:Fairly unattractive vignetting at long focal lengths (fix in post)
Distortion at shortest focal lengths inappropriate for critical work
Zoom creep
Petal hood is fussy
comment:This lens stays on my camera. It's great fun to shoot with this lens and it's difficult to make bad images with it. It isn't fast enough, of course, to satisfy even casual sports shooters, but it's fine for taking snapshots of kids and pets horsing around.
