comment:This is the first AF lens I've bought. Been a Minolta fan for 30+ years but use an XM for film and all my lenses are MD/MC fit. So I took the plunge and bought a D7 and a lens.
Having learned with a 50mm and possibly a 35-70mm zoom it's fair to say that I'm very happy with such a zoom range. It's not as 'fast' as my MF lenses but given that ISO 400 is not unusable on the 7D I gain a couple of stops and lose a couple. Oh and by the way, the MC/MD lenses work very well with an adapter on the D7.
