ownership:I own this lens
compared to:- 18-55 kit
- 18-70 kit
- 35-105 beercan
- 28-135
- 70-210 beercan
- 75-300 new version
price paid:$350
positive:- sharp for its kind
- non-rotating zoom and focus
- light but still has durable feeling
- no zoom creep if heading down, mine is still new
- CA handling good
negative:- distortion @ 18mm
- AF slower than 35-105, 28-135, even beercan. but if you have experienced 75-300new version, they almost the same
comment:surprisingly sharp for all-around 14x zoom lens !!!
although distortion is somewhat u couldn't avoid, everything bends on 18mm..
color is good, vibrant, but different kind of that minolta has.
