ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Beercan, Sony 16-105, Tam 16-50
price paid:67.00 USD used
positive:Sharp, Sharp, cheap, cheap, light weight, good range smooth focus
negative:hunts, no metal mount
comment:Sharp!! though it hunts at times when the subject tends to move or is small and against the sky or bright background. This lens out performs my beercan, though I am looking into it as my bearcan was a good performer when I first got it. Though it is an all plastic build I give it a 4 because I have not had any issues with it, no creep, zoom is smooth, focus is accurate only negative thing about build is the little to no focus ring. Pictures are great, able to catch my kid playing which my beercan is unable to do with any measurable success. Colors are not quite Minolta like but good on the A100. A700 works great but tend to be a bit softer though I think that is due to JPG engines.
