ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 75-300 4.5-5.6 Big Beercan,
Minolta 70-210 4 Beercan,
Minolta 80-200 2.8 APO,
Tamron 200-400 5.6,
Minolta 100-300 4.5-5.6 APO.
Minolta 100-400 4.5-6.7 APO.
price paid:200 SEK=26 USD
positive:Cheap. Light.
negative:My copy has stuck aperture. I can only take images full open. Thus I cannot review stopped down sharpness.

Update: I have repaired the stuck aperture. However the lens is still more blurry than 70-300 BBC and 100-300 APO. Softness only comparable with Tamron 200-400 f:5.6
comment:Worst build of all my tele-zoom lenses, worst sharpness also, compares only to the mediocre Tamron 200-400. Colors OK, distortion OK. If you get a good build that is not rattling, check that the mechanics of the aperture works. I paid 1/6 of the price of my Big Beercan, but it is in my opinion not worth the price. If you are really poor maybe it is justified. More coma than the BBC. Worse Bokeh than the BBC. No visible distortion.
