ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Tamron 24-135
Sigma 70-300
Sony 18-70
price paid:449.00
positive:Nice build quality
negative:More chromatic aberration than the Sony kit lens, even at 3.5
Unbelievably soft at 2.8. Starts to sharpen up at 3.5 (not a lot)
comment:I got this lens after reading many many reviews about how sharp it is. I have to say, I must have gotten a bad copy because when wide open, everything is horribly fuzzy. Stopping down to 3.5 or more sharpens the picture. What's the point of a 2.8 lens if it soft? This lens is going back!
