ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Tamron 90 f2.5 (old...)
price paid:450
positive:Light, internal focus no lens extension. Bohek.
negative:For me, working distance too short.
comment:I haven't used this much for macro work; I've gotten used to "tele-macro" using a 70-300G. I'll have to get a longer focal length macro in the future. This lens makes an excel prime lens for non-macro work; sharp and great bokeh. Have used it in place of my minolta 50/1.7. I've used it primarily with the A55; makes for a very light camera/lens combo. This lens plus the 16-80Z, and 70-300G makes for a light travel kit with lots of range.
