positive:- Sharp
- Fantastic build quality
- Great colour and contrast
- Convenient range
- Made of metal and is heavy
negative:- Focus not particularly quick
- Lens cap can't be used with lens hood on
comment:I just love this lens on my D7, I find that I use it as much as all my other lenses together (Min 28/2RS, Min 85/1.4, Min 100/2.8RS Macro and more...). In my opinion no Minolta lens that I have held comes close to the feeling of this all metal gem. I do use all of the zoom range, not just the 300mm end. I usually step down to F4.5 but the quality is good at F4.0 as well. If you don't have a lens in this range and you happen to find a Tokina AF 100-300/4 in good shape, do youself a favour and buy it!
