ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 80-200 2.8
Minolta 70-210 F4 (Beercan)
Minolta 100-300 4.5-5.6
price paid:680 USD (used)
positive:- Excellent build
- Solid performer
- Great wide open
- Precise focus
- Built to last
negative:- Just a little heavy, but well balanced, escpecially on the a700 (even better on a monopod or tripod)
- Hard-to-find lens these days
comment:Awesome lens. Even wide open with decent available light. A little on the heavy side, but superb build makes up for it.

Versatile zoom range with F4 constant. Awesome deal compared to Sony 70-200 2.8 SSM for about half the price. Much better range than the Beercan. Solid performer with excellent value. A real gem of a lens.
