ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Tamron 17-50 2.8
Minolta 50 1.4
price paid:220 Euro
positive:Great build, solid as a rock, still light
Good balance with camera body
Great sharpness and color
negative:Not easy to screw hood backwards onto the lens
comment:This is a fanatastic lens. It produces great colors, is reasonable sharp at f/3.5, very sharp from f/5. It looks and feels great mounted onto a camera body. The speed of auto focus is great for this kind of lens.

Only thing to complain is the hood, when you try to screw it onto lens backwards. I usally need two or three tries to get it done.
