ownership:I own this lens
compared to:-DT 18-70
price paid:120 U$ (used)
positive:-Well built, matalish.
-Razor sharp, heard that it is better than 2.8 version.
-20mm is enough for general wide angle shot.
negative:-When used it for a long time, some part become loose.
-Flare, even the hood still can't help too much.
-Tight zoom range (1.5x)
comment:This is the first experience between me and Tokinas. At first, I use it with my D7 and like it alot. I like wide angle and this lens meets all of my pleasures. 20mm is wide enough for me.

After I had DSLR, D5D, this lens still perform better that the kit evne FOV of this lens at 20mm compared to kit at 18mm is not so wide on APSC (x1.5) camera. I do love this lens over all of my lens.

Now, even my AF system D7 is gone and it is not enough wide for APS-C DSLR, I still use this lens everywhere I go.

For sharpness, images show it's very goog sharpness from wide open to the sharpest at arount F5.6-F8 (test on D5D because I perform perfectly on my film system).

The very bad point, in many ones sight, is it's flare welcome feature. For me, flare is not a problem, and I think that it make photos become real photos! (according to this, I prefer normal bokeh than round bokeh from circular apature).

Sorry for my bad skill in English writting.

I just finished my test of this lens against AT-X 235 AF Pro
