positive:Built like a tank
nice af/mf clutch system
focus smooth
zoom ring smooth
great picture quality
negative:does need flare control
comment:My 2nd favorite, but mostly used lens. I really can not say enough about this. About the only negative I can think of is that boy it would be nice if this were a 24-85 or 105 length. Why? Because I would kill for a lens with that range with this quality.

As another reviewer mentioned, this lens could have better flare control. Just need to pay attention for it. However it is hardly a deal stopper.

This is the lens that finds itself onto my camera most of the time. There just simply seems little reason to take it off unless I need to go wider or longer. In fact my 50mm 1.7 lens rarely gets used now.
