ownership:I used to own this lens
compared to:-Original Tokina AT-X 270 AF (72mm)
price paid:280 U$
positive:-Well built.
-F2.8 (I don't mind 2.6)
-Well ergonomic design when in use.
-Hood attaching make lens become more pro.
negative:-Crap design AF-MF clutch mechanism.
-Less performance than the Original AT-X270 AF (72 thread version).
-Skin of 'Pro I' and 'Original' are OK but this sand-like coating on 'Pro II' is easily to be peeling.
comment:I've used the Original version of AT-X 270 AF family for very long time from film era to DSLR era. It perform very well even at 2.8 is a bit like a soft filter on the lens automatically.

But for Pro II version (as same as Pro I but differences is very little things unaffected to the image.), it is very sucks (I gave 3.5 sharpness for this lens and 5 for original version). It recover from softness at F8, or may be I have a bad copy. I did comparation between Original one and this one.

here is the link (not a standard testing but can tell you something no more no less).

Sorry for available only in my language. please know that upper image is from Original and lower from Pro II.

Update ....

My review here,

Let it VS the Tokina 28-80 / 2.8 head to head !!
