positive:Great Build Quality
Very reliable.
Good color
Good distortion
negative:Poor Flare Control
Not as sharp as I would like.
Not as usefull range on 7D
comment:It is my "main" lens in that 75% of my images are taken with it. This is well build but is not as sharp as I would like. It *can* be sharp, sometimes I view a photo taken with it and am surprised that it is actually sharper then expected, but usually I find the results too soft. The flare on this lens is not well controlled and often is in the form of an ugly mis-shapened blob. This seems to only be present in photos with a strong /small source of light.
The 35mm equivelent range is 42-120mm so I find the range less usefull on my 7D then I did on my 9.
