ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony 18-70 kit
Tamron 55-200
Sony 50mm f1.8
price paid:270 USD used
positive:Good coverage for my needs, very solid build, balances well with my camera.
Very sharp.
Internal zoom.
Fast focus.
negative:Feeling a bit heavy on long walks/many handheld shots.
Nasty flare when not using the hood and sun is in the frame.
comment:Very nice lens almost always on my A200. Very sharp after f4. I really cant find anything against this lens , the softness reported at f2.8 is not really something to complain of considering f2.8 I use almost only for portraits.

Gonna give some points that could have been better - the weight - after a 2h walk you start to feel it. Focus mechanism doesn't work on my A200 , I still have to switch it on/off on camera. Flare control - the hood is a must , but the hood that comes with the lens does very good job.
