positive: | The fast f/1.4 obviously. Size and weight. Design. And last but not least the centre sharpness and overall IQ. |
negative: | Not discovered yet.... |
comment: | What a superb portrait lens for APS-C. Fast and silent AF respons. Build quality is very good, all metal even the lenshood. The size and weight are perfect for me. Very creamy bokeh. I am really impressed and enthousiast about this beauty. Very pleased my offer was accepted! € 125,- is a steal IMHO. Lucky me... |

positive: | F1.4, price, central sharpness, fast AF, value for money, size, the fact that there are similar lenses @ 23 and 33mm f1.4 from the same manufacturer |
negative: | The edges could be sharper, some vignetting, high longitudinal chromatic aberration, acceptable sharpness at 1.4 and great by f4. |
comment: | I was delighted with the image rendering of the Viltrox 85mm f1.8 and decidedon a whim to get the 50mm f1.4. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. The IQ is very good to excellent from 1.4 especially in the centre. The heavy vignetting and the chromatic aberration demand more time from me in post than I would prefer to give. |
