ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 24-85
Sigma 28-135
price paid:£80 UK
positive:Reliable and sharp even at 28mm.
Not over heavy
Zoom doesnt grab#Auto focus is accurate if somewhat lethargic
negative:Autofocus is not exactly Formula 1 and struggles if subject neare than 4 foot (1.25 m). Silver coloring makes it look cheap and fragile.
comment:I have used this lens regularly for 7 years on A58, A77 and A7R,
Works as well as ever. No problems with reliability, No torn gears. Its fragile appearance belies the reality. If you are not in a rush to Autofocus its a perfectly acceptable lens.
