ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Canon TS-E 24 II via Metabones MKiV
The Canon used as standard 24mm (without TS usage) is already close to delivering perfect IQ, but for my taste the Zeiss is able to slightly surpass because it produces the nicer colors and slightly better contrast. Sharpness wide open is on par, whereas the Zeiss offers a 1,66 stopp advantage over the Canon.
price paid:1.249 €
positive:Size and weight, built quality.
Color rendition and contrast.
Quite fast and very reliable AF operation.

negative:./.
comment:Because of the weight of the Canon incl. adapter (roughly 1kg) I planned to go for a 20-25mm prime with lower weight/size. I didn't had the Zeiss in mind at the first place, but when I visited a retailer in a neighbortown a month ago I didn't trust my eyes when I saw a Batis 25/2 in the shelf. When he confirmed that it was no pre order, I played with it a moment and bought it right away.
In the beginning I thought the OLED would just be a nice gimmick, but meanwhile I learned to really love it , and it is accurate like hell. Color and contrast is what I like so much with Zeiss over the years, and the Batis delivers perfectly.
All in all - the lens is simply amazing. It's a joy to use.
If the price tag can be beared, just grab one if you can get one.
