comment:Outstanding lens. Very compact and feels well balanced on the camera. Images are sharp with vivid colors and contrast. Shows a definite advantage over the 16-35mm f4 (@24mm) and definitely superior to the older Minolta and Nikkor. One thing I like about the Batis line up is the color matching across all three of my lenses (40mm and 85mm). This lens has been overshadowed in the internet world by the Sony 24mm f1.4 GM, but from what I have gleaned from reviews, it's not by much. I purchased this one on the used market long before the Sony was released, and I am sure there are more deals available today.
