positive: | - Fisheye. - Cheap. |
negative: | - Not so wide on APS-C. - Not so fishy on APS-C. - Difficult to focus. |
comment: | I'm not sure how useful a full-frame fisheye lens is on an APS-C camera, but the price is right with this one at least. Quite soft wide open, but does what it's supposed to when stopped down. Prone to flare, however, and there's no possibility to attach any additional lens hood (no front thread + would vignette). For just wide-angle (without fishy effects), the Sigma 10-20mm is obviously better on an APS-C camera, but in a different price range altogether. I recommend this primarily for the fisheye effect, but not for de-fishing in software. |
