ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony 20/2.8
Sony 18-70
Tokina 20-35 II
Minolta 24-85 new
price paid:120 USD (new)
positive:Very sharp at f/8
Cheap
Compact size
3 additional rear color filters
negative:Soft wide open
Not so fish on APS-C
Unique front cap
Manual focus
comment:My copy is very, very sharp at f/8 (Sony A700), aceptable at f/5.6, soft at f/4. On f/2.8 too soft and unusable for landscapes. Good color, metal build.

I've got M42 version with chip adapter, but focus confirm is useless for this lens, so I replace it to usual one.

Note that rear tansparent or color filter is a part of optical scheme.
