comment:This was the first real macro lens i bought and wow it just blew me away. What a fantastic lens, so incredibly sharp and even when the seller told me it was 28 years old it looks new. It is my all time favorite, maybe the negative part is that it made all my other lenses look less good. Later on i managed to find the Minolta 100mm f2.8 macro too but i have to say i think the 50mm is a bit sharper and still my favorite. Ofcourse the 100mm is more useable for insects and also incredibly sharp. Last week i found a second 50mm one in a secondhand store,it was in an old bag with camera gear. That one i got for 50 euro's so if you keep your eyes open you can find them out there for a good price. I am glad to have a spare because it is just a fantastic lens.
