ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony 135 STF, Sony 70-200 SSM
price paid:$950 US used
positive:Everything -> sharp, spot on AF, creamy bokeh, beautiful colors
negative:Everyone can't have one due to availability...or lack of.
comment:If this is just as good as the Sony Zeiss model, i'll keep the Minolta. Why?, if for nothing else, the more user friendly focus ring on the Minolta Big grooves, not 'ribbed for your fingers' pleasrure' type. Isolates your subject so well at f2 - f2.8. If you drop even lower on the aperture, you can't even tell if your subject is in front of a demolition site or a botanical garden. I use it mainly for my portraits, not fighting against the great results of the STF. But, AF will win out here in lower light areas. It really is my favorite lens.

I don't really care if it's loud focussing, or slow focusing. All I care about is the pictures it takes, which are always fantastic! It's reputation is well deserved.
