ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Only the other CZ & Minolta 85's compare.
price paid:930 USD (new)
positive:Bright
Solid Build
Bokeh
negative:Sometimes slow to focus
comment:Wide open, this lens gives a silky property to portraits. At these apertures the DOF is very narrow enabling the photographer to concentrate on the subject and virtually ignore the setting. It becomes extremely sharp at higher apertures the DOF increases substantially and it's close focusing ability actually exceeds the ability of some of the non 1:1 macros. The light conductivity of this lens is incredible. It makes a darkly lit room appear sunny. The bokeh is dead accurate. This lens can be slow to focus but since it's designed to be a portrait lens, this is not an issue.
