ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 100/2.8
Tamron 90/2.8
price paid:approx Ł135 (used)
positive:Very Sharp
1:1 macro
comment:The 100mm focal length is perhaps a little more useful for insects, etc, but the 50mm is great as a easy to carry macro (takes up very little space) and is great for product photography.

The 50mm is also a good portrait lens on APS-C.
