ownership:I used to own this lens
compared to:
price paid:$250 CAD (Used)
positive:Cheap for a 1:1 macro
Very sharp
Smooth bokeh
No distortion
Very little CA
Almost zero light falloff on APS-C
Good dual purpose lens if you don't need anything faster the F2.8
negative:No focus limiter on this model
AF a little slow (As with all macros)
comment:This is a very good multi purpose lens assuming you do not need anything faster then F2.8. There are very little issues with this lens as it has proven to be a very sharp lens with smooth bokeh even when used wide open. Even wide open this lens does not have a lot of issues, it does have a little CA wide open but not a lot, and doesn't suffer from any light falloff either on an APS-C sensor.

Overall this is a great lens for the money and if you don't like to carry around 2 50mm lenses (such as the macro and the F1.7/F1.4) and do not need anything faster then F2.8 you might be better off with this as it can serve 2 purposes.
