|positive:||- Razor Sharp|
- Very decent build
- Creamy Bokeh
- Virtually no distortion
|negative:||- Hunts on AF|
- Glossy finish does not match Sony camera styling
|comment:||I bought this used for a very low price, my copy has stiff focus which strains the motor on my A200 a bit (and makes AF slower) so I'm not considering that in this review.|
The lens is very sharp even compared to the 50/1.4, it is also well built (nice weight) though I wish the focus ring was a bit wider and the glossy styling looks a bit out of place on my Sony body.
The magnification scale is useful when using MF and overall it is nice to use for MF (my focus ring is stiff which helps with the precision).
The working distance is OK and does enable you to light objects properly even near 1:1 reproduction, something that cannot be said about the Sony 30/2.8 Macro.
Overall it is good optically and would recommend it, especially at a low price. I will update this as I use it more.
