comment:I bought this to replace my beercan which I glady sold off, if you read my beercan review you'll see why.

In A nutshell this is faster than a beercan at the short end and although slower at the long end, it is sharper than a beercan.

Image quality is excellent, hunting isn't quite as bad as the beercan and yes it does need stopping down (as does the beercan), as a cheap lens (I paid only £46) it is a bargain and much cheaper than the beercan and newer (but probably better) 50-200 lenses.

If you want a cheap mid range zoom I cannot recommend this one highly enough, Zoom creep however is truly horrendous.
