ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sigma 50 1.4
Tamron 17-50 2.8
price paid:180 CHF
positive:Sharp as hell
Beautiful colours
Excellent portraits
Typical minolta build - solid as a rock
negative:Slow to focus, but not a big deal considering it is macro
comment:This lens is a real surprise. I bought it o take macro photos of my newborn son, and I have to say I am blown away by its macro capabilities. It also doubles well as a portrait lens. It is light, portable, and very versatile. I am very happy I chose the minolta rather than paying more money for macro lenses I do not really need. If you are on a budget and want quality, get this.
