positive:Cheap, light, fairly sharp
negative:Motor zoom and focus (focusing in manual, hard to get it right.)
comment:There are better lenses out there at this range, but it came with the 7xi camera I bought long time ago. Still a good bring along lens when you don't want to bring expensive stuff.

positive:Pretty sharp.
Built tough.
negative:Useless power manual focus.
comment:I bought this lens new in 1993 when I bought my 7xi. I loved the power zoom feature (and still do!) but as my skills grew, I missed the lack of a proper manual focus ring. The power manual focus feature is useless. This lens is a though piece of kit. I have dropped it a number of times, and its pulled through with just a few scratches. For the record, my 7xi was just as tough...it died last year when the shutter mechanism gave up the ghost. I feel that this lens is a great walk around lens, and the power zoom is great, IMHO.

This lens is sharper than my copy of the 24-105 D lens.

positive:Nice build quality and versatile focal length
negative:Motorised zoom and focusing is way too slow and also eats batteries.
comment:Only used with film bodies. The enlargements from the lens was not that good. Slow and noisy. If possible, get something else than this lens.
